# Automo for agents

Automo is one workspace for creating and running a business: designs, videos, documents and spreadsheets; files, brand kits, knowledge base, mail, meetings, tasks, customers and campaigns.

This file tells an AI agent what it can do with Automo, where everything is described, and how to get access. Everything here is public and needs no account to read.

## What you can do

- Read what Automo does: every capability, where it lives in the product and how to use it, at https://automo.ai/docs (Markdown: https://automo.ai/docs/index.md, compact index: https://automo.ai/everything.md).
- Act inside a person's Automo workspace, as that person, through the connector: create designs, documents, videos and spreadsheets; search files, brand kits, knowledge base, mail, meetings, tasks and customers; draft campaigns, tickets and e-signature envelopes.
- Call the connector two ways with the same tools, scopes and audit trail: MCP (Streamable HTTP) at https://mo.automo.ai/mcp, or REST at https://mo.automo.ai/v1/tools/{tool_name}.

## Discover

- OpenAPI 3.1, one operation per tool: https://automo.ai/openapi.json (also https://mo.automo.ai/openapi.json)
- Tool catalogue, no auth: https://mo.automo.ai/v1/tools
- MCP server card: https://automo.ai/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json
- ARD catalog: https://automo.ai/.well-known/ard.json
- Agent skill: https://automo.ai/.well-known/agent-skills/automo/SKILL.md
- A2A agent card: https://automo.ai/.well-known/agent-card.json
- OAuth discovery: https://automo.ai/.well-known/openid-configuration and https://mo.automo.ai/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server
- Site index: https://automo.ai/llms.txt

## Get access

1. Register a client: POST https://mo.automo.ai/oauth/register (RFC 7591, no prior credential).
2. Send the person to https://mo.automo.ai/oauth/authorize with PKCE S256. They sign in (or create a free workspace, no card needed) and tick the permissions they grant.
3. Exchange the code at https://mo.automo.ai/oauth/token. Refresh tokens come with offline_access.
4. Call tools with Authorization: Bearer {access_token}.

A free Automo workspace is the sandbox: anything you do there is real but private to that workspace. Workspace admins can also mint a scoped connector key in Settings, Developer, Claude Connector, API tokens.

Walkthrough: https://automo.ai/developers/quickstart. Scopes: https://automo.ai/developers/scopes. Errors and limits: https://automo.ai/developers/errors.

## From a terminal

`npx automo connect cursor` (or claude-code, claude-desktop, codex, windsurf) adds the Automo MCP server to that client. `npx automo login` then `npx automo call whoami` calls a tool over REST. Docs: https://automo.ai/developers/cli.

## Rules the connector keeps

- Every call acts as the connected person, in one workspace, inside the permissions they granted and their workspace admin allows.
- Writes are recorded in the workspace audit trail before they run. Sending mail, sending documents for signature, arming automations and anything that costs AI credits asks the person first.
- There is no unauthenticated access to workspace data.
