The Google Workspace migration page now offers "Choose a Google Doc / Sheet / Slides" next to the file drop. After you create your free account the matching editor opens on its Google Drive import, where you pick the file from a Google account you connected in Settings or paste a link shared with anyone who has it. Connecting in Settings and coming back now shows the Drive picker straight away. Downloading an export and dropping it here still works.
