Microsoft has been working very closely with the OEMs and tier 1 providers worldwide over a decade to understand their businesses and prerequisites, and working with industry partners to structure programming for automobiles.
According to a survey conducted by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, Americans spend an average of 176,000 minutes each year. Individuals invest a lot of time and energy inside their vehicles by talking on the phone or chatting, and along these lines, the end user needs a rich and diversion free communication medium. Some users need entertainment inside the vehicle, others need profitability, while still others would like to navigate effectively without putting much effort. Microsoft is aiming at creating innovative products that eventually help create a valued experience inside the vehicle. Automakers are working with Microsoft to understand opportunities in remote vehicle diagnostics and other services that provide benefit to their clients, dealers, and to their designing procedures too. Microsoft is also aiming at providing rich and safe experience for drivers and passengers by developing smartphones, versatile advanced media players, and different gadgets.
Working with the auto industry, Microsoft has developed an auto grade software application that meets or surpasses the prerequisites of automakers. Microsoft’s plan of action is basically a direct permitting model that permits car OEMs to standardize software and hardware specifications. This offers OEMs the opportunity to multi-source their equipment. Since this is exceptionally simple for car OEMs to do, it will create an opportunity to drive costs down and increase the benefits with respect to multi-sourcing models. The organization’s software vendor ecosystem and interfaces will help vehicle producers to target large volume of vehicles. In the medium term, Microsoft could witness and provide a different experience to the drivers while driving as compared to the current scenario and focus on the passenger experience with respect to the vehicle.
