The active tab joins the toolbar below it instead of floating as a lighter box, a soft fade shows when tabs are hidden past either edge, a plain mouse wheel scrolls the row sideways, and switching to a tab with the keyboard brings it into view. The macOS window buttons now sit on the tab row's centre line, the Windows caption buttons match the row's height, and switching back from the side rail no longer flashes the page down the window.
