EPOS voice ordering and the knowledge-base interview now uses free on-device speech recognition wherever it works, and only records and transcribes as a last resort. On iPhone the app uses Apple's own recognizer, with a one-time tip if Speech Recognition is turned off in Settings. Meeting captions now say clearly when they are not available on a device.
