Asking for a new image "with the same character" now actually reuses that character. The assistant reads the picture you have selected, or the artwork already on your canvas, and generates the new scene around the same character — same face, clothing and drawing style — instead of inventing a stranger. Asking for an illustration also produces an illustration: requests for drawn artwork were being given photographic direction, which is why they came back looking like stock photography.
