Migrate from Asana to Automo
This page does not log into Asana for you. Create a free Automo account, then connect Asana in Import workflows and pick the projects to bring across as Knowledge Base databases.
What moves across
- Asana projects you select, each as a Knowledge Base database with table and board views
- Sections, as a Section column on every task
- Custom fields, as select, multi-select, number, text or date columns
- Tasks with name, notes, assignee name, due date and completed state
What does not
- Native Automo projects. Tasks land as database rows, not as Flow project tasks
- Subtasks, comments, attachments, dependencies and archived projects
- Asana rules as a live copy. You paste or screenshot them for review instead
Export from Asana
- Create a free Automo account, or sign in, from this page
- You land in Import workflows with Asana chosen. A workspace admin pastes an Asana personal access token
- Pick the Asana workspace and the projects to bring across, then run the import
- Each project becomes a Knowledge Base database. Add rules by pasting or screenshotting them
Questions about moving from Asana
Does this page log into Asana?
No. After you sign up or sign in, a workspace admin pastes an Asana personal access token in Import workflows. Automo only reads projects and tasks and never writes back to Asana.
Do my tasks become Automo projects?
No. Each project you pick becomes a Knowledge Base database. Tasks are rows, sections and custom fields are columns. Nothing is converted into Flow projects.
What happens to Asana rules?
Asana has no public API for reading rules, so they are not copied automatically. Paste or screenshot a rule after the import and review it. Nothing runs until you turn it on.
Who can run the import?
A workspace admin. Creating the Automo account is free, and Workflows has to be available on the workspace you land in.
