Migrate from Freshdesk to Automo
Create a free Automo account, then connect Freshdesk in Support with your Freshdesk address and an agent's API key. Tickets come across with their full conversations. A ticket CSV is the fallback and carries ticket fields only.
What moves across
- Your past tickets when you connect, with subject, description, status, priority and dates
- The full conversation on each ticket, including replies and private notes
- The customer who raised each ticket, with name and email
- From a ticket CSV instead: ticket fields only, without conversations
What does not
- Canned responses, automations and the knowledge base
- Attachment files. Only their names come across with the conversation
- Conversations from a CSV. A Freshdesk ticket export does not carry them
How to move from Freshdesk
- Create a free Automo account from this page
- After sign-up, the Freshdesk import in Support opens. Enter your Freshdesk address, like yourcompany.freshdesk.com
- Paste an agent's API key. In Freshdesk open Profile settings and choose View API key
- Choose Import tickets. Tickets you already imported are skipped. Without a key, export a ticket CSV and drop it on this page instead
Questions about moving from Freshdesk
Should I connect Freshdesk or drop a CSV?
Connect if you can. The connection brings each ticket with its full conversation, including replies and private notes. A CSV brings ticket fields only: subject, description, status, priority and the customer.
Where do I find my Freshdesk API key?
In Freshdesk, open Profile settings and choose View API key. Use the key of an agent who can see all tickets. Freshdesk includes API keys on its Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans.
Does the knowledge base move?
No. Canned responses, automations and the knowledge base stay in Freshdesk. Tickets and their conversations are what move.
Is the file uploaded first?
No. It is read in your browser until you create an account.
