Migrate from Google Contacts to Automo

Drop a CSV or vCard from Google Contacts. Outlook and iCloud exports with the same columns work too. After sign-up the file opens in your Automo address book.

What moves across

  • Contacts that have an email address
  • Name, company, phone, job title, address, birthday, notes and groups when those columns exist
  • vCard 3.0 or 4.0 cards with an email

What does not

  • Rows or cards without an email. Email is the identity key
  • Google Circles, photos and the live Google account
  • Anything you did not export as CSV or vCard

Export from Google Contacts

  1. In Google Contacts open Export, then CSV or vCard
  2. Drop that file here. It is read on your device
  3. Create a free Automo account. The file opens in your address book

Either. Google Contacts can export both. Outlook and iCloud files with the same columns or a vCard also work.

Why are some rows skipped?

Contacts without an email address are skipped. Email is the identity key in the Automo address book.

Does Automo connect to Google?

Not on this page. Export the file yourself. Nothing is uploaded until you create an account.
