When a sequence email bounces, the person is marked Bounced, their remaining steps are no longer sent and the address is suppressed, so dead addresses stop getting follow-ups that hurt your sender reputation. Temporary bounces hold the next step for a day instead of ending the sequence, bounces are picked up much sooner after sending, and a large backlog of overdue sequence emails now goes out gradually instead of in one burst.
