Setting an angle or squashing the roundness in the photo editor's brush settings had no effect on the stroke you painted, so calligraphic and chisel style brushes always came out perfectly round. The shape you set is now used while you drag, in the finished stroke, and in the brush cursor, so you can see exactly what you are about to paint.
