Two things were replacing your typefaces with generic substitutes on the way out. Text you had not restyled by hand — body copy and headings taking their font from the document or from a Design theme — was losing its face entirely. And licensed brand fonts from your workspace were being swapped out too. Downloaded PDFs now carry the typefaces you see on the page.
