It no longer picks up whatever mailbox the mail app last used, and never offers a connected personal mailbox such as yourname@yourcompany.com, which cannot send list email and must not carry it. If a workspace has no usable sender the dialog says so and points at where to set one up, and a refused send names the reason instead of a bare failure count. Everyday one-to-one email is unchanged.
