Picking a template while a document is open now asks what you want
In the document editor, choosing a template from the File menu used to silently open a new, empty editor tab.

In the document editor, choosing a template from the File menu used to silently open a new, empty editor tab. It now asks whether to replace the content of the document you have open, keeping its name and its place in your files, or to open the template as a separate document in a new tab. An empty document is filled straight away with no question, and opening in a new tab now creates the document properly from the template so it shows up in Files right away.
