Choosing Simple chat from chat preferences used to leave the app stuck on a blank chat that never signed in, and preferences could show Simple chat as your current choice while full chat was on screen. Both are fixed: preferences now reflects the chat you are really in, and switching between simple and full chat works on phones and tablets.
