Centring or right-aligning text that was added from the Text panel could silently do nothing, because the text box hugged its text and left nowhere for the text to move; the box now widens to the page when you set an alignment, keeps that size as you keep typing and resizing, and alignment also sticks on text pasted from documents. Vertical align middle and bottom no longer snap back on boxes that size themselves to their text.
