Apps recover on their own when an update downloads incompletely
If part of an app update arrived damaged or incomplete, opening the affected screen could end in an error page that no amount of reloading would clear.

If part of an app update arrived damaged or incomplete, opening the affected screen could end in an error page that no amount of reloading would clear. The app now spots that case, restores the last known-good version of itself and carries on, so a bad download no longer leaves anyone stuck.
