with a video or image clip selected, tap the new In or Out pill at either end of the clip — or the Transitions tool in the clip toolbar — to fade in from black or out to black, choosing the style, direction and duration. Where a clip touches the next one, the pill edits the existing cut's transition instead of stacking a second one. Works in both phone layouts, in every language.
