My Connections now tells you up front when you can't connect a mailbox
If your role or workspace settings don't allow it, the Gmail, Outlook and IMAP Connect buttons are turned off and the reason appears on the card.

If your role or workspace settings don't allow it, the Gmail, Outlook and IMAP Connect buttons are turned off and the reason appears on the card. Before, the button sent you to Mail, which only then told you to ask an admin.
