New companies get an owner, chosen the way your leads are
When you add a company, you are now its owner by default, the same as when you add a contact.

When you add a company, you are now its owner by default, the same as when you add a contact. If your workspace has set who gets new leads in Sales admin, a matching rule or the take-turns rotation picks the owner for a new company too. The phone field follows your workspace's country for its example number and formatting, and the form's examples no longer suggest a made-up company.
