If your workspace has no shifts yet, the assign dialog now explains that and lets you apply an industry shift pack or create a shift inline, then assigns it to the person and day you clicked without leaving the dialog. A slim prompt above an empty roster offers the same packs, and each empty roster cell now announces who and which day it adds a shift for, so screen-reader users hear more than "button".
